Hi bipolarbunny, 

Thanks so much for starting this post. I'd like to ask how can you help a family member that is resistant to outside help. This family member has had bipolar since teenage years and has been manageable until a few years where it seems to be getting worse and medication hasn't helped getting her 'back to herself'. I'm stuck at how I can help the situation and don't want to play the waiting game anymore. We do see the psychiatrist for fortnightly visits but I dont see any improvement. Not sure what the next step may be.

Hello and welcome @1Freckles 

My husband has bipolar 2 and other diagnosis 

He was anti depressants for years and then they were not working has they should 

Like my husband,  She might need a her medication adjusted 

He is on 2 meds a day now and we still have some ups and downs but a lot better
