Good morning @Appleblossom, @Faith-and-Hope, @Former-Member, @Decadian
Nice cup of coffee this morning my friends xx
@Decadian yes, as women we find it easier to semi retire or retire as we still find plenty to do everyday , My mum said yesterday that I will have no worries as I will always keep myself busy but in a different way xx
as we are cutting back on work , i have been trying to encourge my husband to take up a hobby
Looking forward to topic tusday tonight @Appleblossom
Yippee @Former-Member xx Yes , i think what jobs we had goes to what is happening now when we are older , as i looked after between 7 to 12 children a day from babies to teenagers for 25 years has affected my body over the years xx
hope you have a good day xoxo

Oh wow!!!!!! @Shaz51
I cannot imagine looking after so many children - having two and occasionally having one here or there for baby sitting was enough for me - actually with my son - he was like having three children. My dd was easy - but her first 5 years were tough when she had bad tonsils and failed to thrive
I guess that was your work. Were you also a foster parent? That would be massively hard work - foster children like adopted children have a complicated back story. I keep hoping that people get educated before they adopted a child
You have had such a life - I would like to hear more
You will be fine semi-retired but yes - I know your husband has always had MI and the transition will be harder for him - yes - you can suggest he takes up a hobby but I bet that it will be hard work for you to get him to do that. I have so many hobbies it's like full time work - but I want to do them and not just to fill in the time
But people have to want to have hobbies -
You are an amazing person with all you have always had on your plate and managed to add through your life - it's really great to know you

Hey @Appleblossom
I love boats and ships - not keen to travel to Britain on a ship but that's how my grandparents got here
I have no idea of where I would find and old boat let alone how to restore it - but I have always liked the idea of ships in bottles - I bet one would cost the world - I don't have steady hands - and I have a lot of arthritis
I live near a river - this area is a resort suburb - it was - long ago - a holiday spot - but I have lived her for most of my life - and I love to go and see the boats moored near where the river runs into Port Phillip Bay
Personally I had to retire a long long time ago but I have yet to feel bored
I wanna ship in a bottle for Christmas - I guess I had better buy it for myself
I have a sailing ship photo somewhere - I have the print framed in my bedroom -
oh yes

Ha ha , funny you said that @Decadian xx
I was babysitting before i was 18 and then i started my business chilcare -- I totally loved it , I found it so enjoyable
when i first started the kids treated me like a big sister , it wasnt until i was 42 , i still loved looking after children but i started hating all the paperwork that went with it and all the rules
Then I got married and we started our own business as my hubby could not hold onto a job with his MI
