Hi @Shaz51 ... 😊
@Former-Member ... it was like that a lot for me .... I can relate. My family weren't here, my in-laws on a different planet and counter-supportive, and WH a workaholic. I had to make it work, and I did .... adopted friends as family, and got creative ... as I am hearing you do too ...
I basically set the house up like a kingergarten, and my bedroom was organised around pyjama days we could all have together ... TV in there .... playpen .... did with the kids the sort of things I do now in order to cope.
Used to put them in the middle of an oval sometimes with balls, mini-trampoline, bubble blowers, then I would walk around the oval with a coffee ... gave them time-out .... gave me time-out.
Would pack a picnic and spend the day at the zoo, or swimming pool, or playground .... rugs and pillows to rest on the grass ... helped having a twin-pram to cart stuff ....
Sleep is important .... prioritise it if you can ....
❤️

Resting is an okay substitute for sleep ... remember that cos it helps to take the stress out of not being able to sleep when you need to ... if you can't sleep, just accept a rest instead, and sleep when you can. It helps lower the anxiety that way, and can, ironically, help you sleep. It's a way of turning a negative cycle into a positive one.
Make the morning tea at school about you as much as possible. Dress in something you really like ... shoes too ... fave earrings .... perfume ... have a treat brekky before you go .... put yourself in the best mood possible and promise yourself something rewarding for afterwards. You would pull all stops to help one of your kids cope with an uncomfortable situation ... do it for you too ... cos you're worth it ....
❤️💕

@Faith-and-Hope yes you had better have hot chocolate or you wont sleep!
Isnt it funny, i often forget we are all in vastly different locations... and thus, time zones!
I am secretly a little jealous and wishing i was wherever you are, because i would LOVE another few hours sleep haha... instead i am heading off to work! oh well TGI friday i guess 🙂
