Christian Chat

Re: Christian Chat

I wouldn't know @avant-garde   being a hermit...

But I'd guess they'd want to say the right or godly thing

Re: Christian Chat

@Shaz51 you are proof that faith is not just practised on a Sunday. Thank you xoxo 🫂

Re: Christian Chat

@Dimity I needed to take a step away for a moment but I want to return and say thank you so much for your words xoxo 🫂

You are a blessing

Re: Christian Chat

Any time @ENKELI I hope that you can always feel that love and care here 💜

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI

Thank you

You see... I have what are considered "less disciplined" views when it comes to a particular topic/group.

I believe in being friends with them and not shunning them, but coming alongside and loving them, no matter how they choose to live.

I was talking about it with a friend of mine today and mentioned the clash of opinions in regards to a mutual friend. They had discussed this topic in their Bible study recently and our mutual friend shared a different alignment with this topic than she shared with me. I was openly challenged and told off, but was told our mutual friend found it hard to believe considering what she had been told

Re: Christian Chat

@avant-garde I have the same viewpoint as you - just as Jesus does.

Being called out for a different viewpoint doesn't seem right, and then being told off certainly sounds like a very closed minded group.

I try not to offer advice anymore because I usually get into trouble for doing it but what you're experiencing doesn't sound right.

I have a question that I don't know who to ask...

How common is it for Christians to just tell you what they think you want to hear rather than what they believe?

@ENKELI @Shaz51 @Appleblossom @Dimity @tyme

I just saw your post above @avant-garde .

I tend to feel that we can't really lump all Christians into one category so it's hard to say.

In a way, I think it's with humans in general and not just Christians. How common is it for humans to just tell you what they think you want to hear rather than what they believe?

Re: Christian Chat

I agree with what @tyme said @avant-garde

Thanks @ENKELI from your shazzy 😊

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI @Shaz51 @tyme @avant-garde I haven’t noticed that at my church. Some People seem opinionated and not scared of stepping on toes, in my church. Neither insincere people pleasing or grouchiness are ideal. It is interesting for me to learn to listen to my intuition about people’s genuine feelings.  I had been isolated for a long time. Now I am busily involved. I am trying not to overthink or overreact. Oftentimes I am too sensitive and worried about rejection. Eg., yesterday, but today proved those fears wrong. So I try taking the next step….
