Re: Easter Monday Hangout Space - All welcome!

Was going to say... Red dress, those heels.... While riding a horse! Oh @Glisten hilarious

Yes we are a bit partial to the old Will... In our house. Was in Shakespeare society for a few years with my son ... Trying to find an intelligent and social outlet for my boy. He was quite a gentleman.

@Dreamy hugs Bella

Was reading your discussion about psychologists. Yes, there are narcissistic psychologists. I thought maybe the one I finished with this week was one. Then I saw your posts. Timely thanks. Maybe they don't mean to be, but with the level of vulnerable clients they deal with, they need to be more careful.

I am middling... Atm... Yes hopefully things will pick up.

@Appleblossom thanks for those hugs ❤️.

Yes I do think psychologists need to be more careful about things that are said cos words really can have such a lasting impact.

Hope things pick up for you sweet, sending you hugs ❤️

Re: Easter Monday Hangout Space - All welcome!

Now iv got to find the post about narcassistic psychologists .....

I tend not to read posts about narcassism because that term gets bandied around a lot and in my eyes - narcassism first focus is being

Un empathetic.

It's also very triggering for me  because both my stepfather and mother are diagnosed narcassists and mum is also  borderline.

But I'm getting stronger.

I feel for Psychiatrist - especially my ex husband's psychiatrist. She is so wrong IHow she is treating him. I'm horrified by her actions but what can you do ?

Once I wrote a letter to one hospital blaming the Psychiatrist 75%fault for him ending up in jail and 25% his responsibility and received a 4 page answer that I was wrong.

That I never DID what I wrote.

Too funny for words ....

Was that narcassism ?

Re: Easter Monday Hangout Space - All welcome!

I tend to avoid the narcissism discussion too @PeppyPatti it became too easy and insult on the internet. It reminded me of the saints and sinners division. I was always more interested in understanding what was going on with the person, motivation, causes, or the whole of the interactions. But I have to acknowledge there are big Power imbalances. Also some harms are unwitting. The issue with psychologists is the core contract of the therapeutic relationship usually involves vulnerability in the client, so if clients are open it needs serious respect and humility from practitioners, that they may not get it right and to couch their language accordingly, as the capacity to do harm is grave.

I wish I had not needed to rely on them, but too much serious stuff in my family that I couldn't easily talk to most people about. Anyway I am grateful that I have had the talking outlets. I am learning to see psychologists as very human and not take everything as absolute truth.

Re: Easter Monday Hangout Space - All welcome!

@Appleblossom@Dreamy and I are in agreement that with a psychologist AI 🤖 bot, you would have consistently, without the worry of being subjected to human flaws.

Re: Easter Monday Hangout Space - All welcome!

dear @Glisten @Dreamy

I don't feel confident in AI bots as that. I am wary at the unregulated rise of AI and find the ads I have seen a turn off, though I know many in universities are saying to embrace AI. Too much Tek has caused damage in my family. I see it as a very mixed blessing. AI may access theories already developed by humans but the potential for human connection is not possible. A bot boasting about how good they mimic a human seems pretty dumb to me.

They say attachment wounds need to be healed whilst in relationship. I love talking to you two.

It's not about being perfect. Still I have valued this conversation.

Re: Easter Monday Hangout Space - All welcome!

@Appleblossom  Chat bot 🤖 Wrote my resume incredibly well and FAST 💨

Re: Easter Monday Hangout Space - All welcome!

@Appleblossom @Glisten the thought of AI for me is more cos of how I've been hurt by humans before when it comes to psychologists. But the reality is it could never replace actual humans cos that connection is important and AI is simply just not enough to get that connection. AI scares me at the best of times but it does play it's part in the world we live in.

Re: Easter Monday Hangout Space - All welcome!

Hearing you about human betrayals @Dreamy . Me too. Wish it wasn’t so. I also understand tek and AI are current realities in the world.

@Glisten if you like using AI. That’s your choice. I walked with tek types for 20 years. My ex husband and I had a computer company. I didn’t like the callous exploitative attitude of many tek types and those who were developing AI, even back at Unimelb. Anecdotes of convenience and time saving are not likely to persuade me. It’s not just that I am old and on the other side of the digital divide, and into the arts. I have a science side. I have seen young people struggle with issues around managing tek. I don’t like having AI rammed down my throat. It needs more regulation. The algorithms and search engines aren’t what they used to be. If I thought AI would bring more goodness into the world… ?… hmmmm…I doubt it. I think we tried this conversation earlier. I think humans are being held to ransom and I don’t like the way big tek is heading. Maybe I will miss out on making millions. So be it.

Re: Easter Monday Hangout Space - All welcome!

@Appleblossom  I have no opposing views on the very valid points that you have raised.

I was stating that with an AI psychologist at least you know, that you won’t be subjected to hurtful speech and more emotional abuse.

Those two things alone. Nothing more.
