Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

@Jynx yes kangaroo paw is the fuzzy one. There are so many new variations nowadays. I've really noticed that so many people are in to natives. It's so lovely. We got 2 mauve ones. Our front yard has so much purple in it but it still looks beautiful.

Laundry is surprisingly therapeutic. There is something about the mundane that can be quite peaceful.

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

@magnolia84 I would love more natives in my garden! I have a thumb that's not quite brown, but it definitely ain't green! I'd probably have to pay a proper landscaping crew to get set up initially so I can plant natives without the whole garden being taken over by the incredibly pervasive grass species coming from the public park next door. And that's just entirely too expensive for me, especially when I'm renting! Future goals for sure tho.

I am totally with you on that one - most of the time! Unfortunately my current residence doesn't have the space for a washing machine, so I have to go elsewhere to do my laundry! Can become a bit of a hassle. But there is definitely some peace to be found in the mundane, I am with you there! Cooking is my fav for getting lost in a task 😊

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

@Jynx renting is so hard for a garden. I lived in apartments for 8 + years until just recently so I had a huge amount of indoor plants. This home doesn't get much indoor light so I've lost a few but most have thrived which is nice.

Sorry to hear you have to go elsewhere for your washing. Do you just sit and read while you wait for it?

What kind of things do you like to cook? I'm thinking of making a cake tomorrow but we will see.

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

@magnolia84 oh wow, only lost a couple? Haha I have a whole bunch of succulents - the hardiest, most brain-dead-easy to look after plants, and still manage to kill a couple every year 😅

Depends if I go to a friend's house or to the laundromat! I try to ask friends where possible cos it's so expensive haha. So it's kinda nice in a way, to have an excuse to go visit.

I like to cook all sorts! Lately been making lots of stews and soups, had me a pretty delicious kangaroo stew and a thai style curried pumpkin soup recently that came out really good! With the weather warming up though, might be time to break out some pasta salads and stir fries!!

Do you like to cook? Sounds like you enjoy baking!! Did you end up in cake land today?

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

@magnolia84 @Jynx

Hey Magnolia how did the cake work out? What kind was it? Are you good at the decorating part?

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

@magnolia84

First day as expected, induction. And it seems about the same since. I said be patient, I hated starting a new job it always takes time to settle in, he will learn the ways in time.

If you cannot find time or motivation for meditation, then I enjoy just chilling to relaxation music, even SBS Chill on the television. Gardening is good exercise; it is good you can spend time with your dad. if I lived in Newcastle i would be walking around the beach all the time and achieving nothing, maybe best you gave it away for gardening and other things.

Do you enjoy board games or cards? i used to play them with my family all the time, at least as good in entertainment terms as television I thought.

Anyway, hope your week has been good.

@Jynx

Am a little rundown as having been fill in delivery driver for the bakery I work at part time this week, 2:30 am start. Next week I go back to my usual part-time nightshift.

Elsewise, gearing up for the cricket season, much better than football.

Great to see you @Alittleorange ,

Rest up my dear. Sounds like things have been busy for you.

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

@Jynx  I love succulents! I went to a succulent fair recently and some of them were absolutely beautiful and so unusual.

Your meals sound absolutely delicious. I didn't get a chance to bake the cake unfortunately. Maybe tomorrow.

How was your day?

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

@Oaktree sadly I didn't get around to making the cake. Maybe tomorrow. I'm terrible at decorating! Just icing and 100s and 1000s for me haha. How about yourself?
