Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@soul  I'd like to invite you to a hot chockie some time if you would care to join us, would love to have you here.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Aw thanks @Former-Member! I will pass this on to @snowlee127 too!

A big thanks to you too, and your wise insights. Was a real pleasure in exchanging experiences, and knowledge with you.

Psst @MissSlytherin, want to come and have a drink?

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Thanks @Former-Member for the invite. Not exactly hot chocolate weather where I am but I am partial to the beverage in the cooler months. I don't drink coffee - such a social handicap! I like the idea of it but just don't like the taste. I do drink a lot of herbal tea - iced and hot. Buckets of chamomile to relax me - if only it worked. It is cleansing for the body however.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@CherryBomb  I have a bit to process now.   I wouldn't mind doing a formal something in CBT to see how it compares to what I have done innately.  I know in theory the principles are identical but that might just be because I am projecting my self training onto what I am reading of the formalised therapies.  I would be very interested to  have the experience of both to gain an existential comparison.  I'm not sure how I would go about doing that, so I guess I have a bit of researching to do.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

lol @soul  yes.. I have to confess I have never gained any actual benefits such as soothing or whatnot from herbal teas.   Aside from the cleansing....  oh yes.. definitely! well if how it goes through me is any indication, there is definitely cleansing. 😉

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Went through a bit of that to numb the pain but am abstaining for the moment. Alcohol that is.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

I don't think mindfulness is for everyone. I don't understand the technicalities and descriptions used but I feel it leads to disconnect and a form of dissociation. I can put everything to one side to examine it but in doing so I become emotionless and that takes away joy and the other emotions that make up the fabric of life. I can examine how I feel about something or someone but it does not change the reality of the situation nor does not exempt the need for a response.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

well @soul  water then?  LOL  ...   what you were saying in the session is so mirroring of my experience it is uncanny.  I am sure there are many divergences, but it's quite obviously we have had fairly similar experiences in quite a few ways.
