Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@Adge surf and turf is a large steak topped with seafood. (Usually prawns but can vary).

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@Adge The name comes from fish being from the surf and cattle eating turf (grass lol)

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

That's interesting @Determined I've never come across that.

Mind you, I rarely eat out.

Do you have those Pie floaters, where you are?

I think it's a Qld dish, I've only ever heard of it in Qld.

Sounds like a very inventive name @Anna88

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

What a pie floater @Adge? I've lived in qld my whole life and feel like I'm missing out on something!

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Never heard of them @Adge (pie floaters)

Surf and turf is also known as reef and and beef.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

It's a meat pie sitting in a bowl of pea soup @Anna88

Several Queenslanders told me they love them. My Mum came from Qld.

I've never come across them - I'm vegetarian, so I don't go looking for meat dishes.

Pie floaters are a South Australian delicacy.  There most famous seller is the "Pie Cart" a mobile unit that sells this gourmet delight near the Adelaide Railway station.

@Former-Memberstill waiting for your pics to appear.

@Adge Very amused by the presentation of your pic, I don't think Pete and Manu would give very high points on MKR for that dish 😂
