As a person who aspires to become a professional poet, I love the Bible. I am not religious in the classical sense but I do believe that God speaks to us, but as literature, the Bible is endlessly valuable. The Songs of Solomon and Psalms are books of unbelievably rich poetry ancient but true. It is likely that the Songs and Psalms helped convert others to Judaism because of their beauty the proverbs and their wisdom as well. I love reading the poetry books of the Bible, they do not really inform my current poetry but the beauty just inspires in the same way people admire Da Vinci's impossible flying machines even though they are not able to ever work. However in the same way, even though the Psalms and Songs style of Poetry is not mine at all and not useful to my particular writing. Yet it inspires me because it is beautiful. Like an ocean sunset. The Bible is a beautiful thing for a poet like a tiny portable Prada to another artist. If you were a painter imagine if you could take the Louvre with you. Now with the Bible and the psalms and the song and songs and proverbs you have a source of endless beauty and inspiration in one book. Its ancientness is key because it speaks to universal needs of humanity. God speaks to us all in our own way in my experience. TO me he speaks to me through the Bibles poetry. Most modern Christians consider the Gospels and act as the central story of Jesus. But the Psalms and proverbs bring it forward. They speak of Christ's coming. My faith comes from the poetry, its beauty moves my soul. As a poet, the Bible is essential reading, as a Christian the poetry in the Bible keeps me faithful in my own non organized religious way.

Hi, Paleofirst, I enjoyed what you wrote, I feel your faith, passion, love, & excitement for GOD & HIS Word in what you shared. I love & enjoy Poetry, I have all my life. Also I find the Book Of Psalms to be most encauraging, & very helpful to me in my lifes journey with GOD, JESUS, & The Holy Spirit. GOD speaks to me through HIS Word, as well as through other ways, people & when my heart is crying out to HIM in prayer.
I am waiting on an answer to prayer at the moment. I sometimes can not hear clearly from GOD for many reasons. If you find it in your heart to lift me up to our ABBA Father in prayer support, I would appreciate this very much. I will leave it as an unspoken prayer request. GOD send us Earthly Angels, I believe at just the right time. I believe that after reading what you have shared, that you may be one of those Earthly Angels for me. Bless you Paleofirst, & your family now, & always!
Love & Hugs!

Scriptures tell that when we cry abba literally the affectionate "daddy" to God he answers us tenderly as a loving heavenly father. As I believe you can be confident you will get your answer if you continue to cry abba and pray for your answer.
