Re: Planet of solitude

Hey @Daughterdid It clicks in after 10 posts.

Living in the woods sounds wonderful.

Figuring out the right thing to say in social situations is tricky.  I take 3 steps forward and 2 back so progress is slow, but I am getting better at setting MY boundaries.

Take Care

Re: Planet of solitude

Hey @Appleblossom, that's a great way to think about it. If I work on understanding my own boundaries then I'll be better able to understand others. Thank you for that insight!

Re: Planet of solitude

I have been trying to learn about them for years ... books youtubes ... but applying it to me ... is a stretch and not the way I am used to thinking ...

I kept making all the mistakes ... the wrong self revelation at the wrong time ... etc .. but I am learning ...had a nice night tonight which was gently social for a lonertype.  ha ha

Glad it helped you .... @Daughterdid

Re: Planet of solitude

Good way to put it, "the wrong self revelation at the wrong time". 🙂 So good to hear that you had a nice night @Appleblossom. Gently social is always nice, easing you in.
Having no boundaries can be dangerous unfortunately. My boss had us working in excessive heat temperatures, and everyone was coming out of their condos and telling stories of how their dads died of heat stroke or their sons, and that we should go home, and I couldn't tell my boss no, and got heat exhaustion for the fourth time in a week. Even knowing my life is on the line, I cannot open my mouth and speak up. It makes me sad for my loved ones. What if I died over something so small as saying "I can't do this"?

Re: Planet of solitude

That is a big realisation. @Daughterdid

I had a similar situation which made me start to vocalise more. I was in a car accident where I think that is I had called out I might have warned the driver to slow down.   I was trained to hold it in.

At least I tell my kids to express when they arent feeling safe.

I had a situation with parent with religious mania and mental illness too. I read your other post.

I am tired @Twinklelight. Trying to get to sleep. Very frustrated that my sleep clock has moved to days. Trying to get it back to nights. Haven't been sleeping enough
