We've been invited over to the neighbours' place for a party. Usually a friendly and diverse affair. We'll go, but haven't decided yet if we'll see midnight in or head home early. They're never too noisy about it, so if we do go home we'll be able to sleep.

But... (being honest) the bit really sticking in my mind right now is that I'll be travelling most of the following Monday to visit my parents who are in aged care, and tackle a bit more of the big sort out at their house. Not looking forward to being away from home, but they need it done and could do with the company too. I've made a lot of these trips over the past year and a bit, and they're very wearing, so I guess I want to enjoy the chances to celebrate here while I've got it.

I know a lot of people find Christmas hard, but for me the excuse to do happy and slightly silly (funny-silly, not stupid silly!) things is healthy. Gives me an excuse to enjoy myself instead of being on duty.
