A long rave

Re: A long rave

I feel a sympatico with you @Mazarita.  I'm not involved with the forums much at all other than our yarns lately.  We discuss the real stuff and don't just skim the surface.  I found I was getting too involved with some people's stuff and not meeting my own needs for a few weeks there.  And even tho' I said to you how it's good you can support your friend, I think it's easy to get spread too thin supporting too many at the same time here on the forums.  Dawn is yawning and I'm going to pop out for a ciggie now and listen to the birds.  If you're still here when I get back we can continue.

Re: A long rave

I feel the same, @eth. I find our conversations here in the quiet late hours interesting, helpful, rewarding and just plain enjoyable. I also know what you are saying about the forum. I think it's an ongoing process of negotiation and navigation, our involvement with things here. Also, I think different people are looking for different things on the forum. Hopefully in the mix, there is something for most people who need or want some connection.

Re: A long rave

I agree @Mazarita.  I'll do something else from 6.30 as I really want to make some progress on at least one story before the others surface.  We have quite a list of jobs to do today that bro has no time for during his work days.  Building new raised garden beds for me to use, doing some planting, putting the frosting on my front door (I really hope this one happens today), getting the pump going on the rain tank in the vegie garden ........  and there's talk of a trip up to the property they have near Stroud too.  Then we have a poetry comitment from 2pm tomorrow (Hiroshima day theme so it will be pretty heavy but it's being hosted by a local poet whose work I dig).  And I'm sure there's more happening than that which I don't know about yet.

I'm up and on here as well, feel free to look at my story/ comment ect.

Re: A long rave

That sounds like a lot for the weekend, @eth, and some interesting and worthwhile things to do. I hope you get your frosted glass today! Maybe let brother know how keen you are, maybe it could get done first.

I'm going to head back to bed now. Enjoy your writing. And thanks again for your wonderful friendship here. It feels sometimes like there's a magic thread connecting the two of us across time and space via the forum. Hugs! Heart

Sweet dreams @Mazarita

Hi @Former-Member sorry but I'll have to catch you some other time.  Be well.

Re: A long rave

Hi @Former-Member, welcome to the forum. You've just caught the two of us after we've been up for hours in the night talking. We are both about to log off. There are early morning risers on the forum who will arrive soon and hopefully respond to your post. Hope you find the forum helpful and enjoyable and look forward to seeing you around. Kind wishes.
