Hi @Former-Member Finches are usually fine, even when they seem restless & fly back & forth. Hopefully they're okay.
It's when they look fluffed up, or sit still for long periods - that they're usually ill.
In that case putting the sick bird in a small cage on it's own, with a heat light-bulb or a slow fan heater (to keep it warm) is about the only thing that helps.
Some bird vitamin powder in their water can help too, or bird antibiotics (in the water) when they're very sick.
Your bird book looks good @Former-Member My books list birds that are good for beginners too. It's good when they tell you that.

@Former-Member No , not another pet bird. I get asthma from the down in there feathers which makes breathing harder. You are struggling with. Chest infection atm, sorry to hear that. The sorting/packing looks like it's going well. Well done you. Have you visited the community garden? There's a few birds in there.
